"Invest in yourself. You can afford it. Trust me."

Today I realized: the harder I try now, the sooner I’ll see my goals. The more excuses I make, the longer it’ll take to see results. So, go that extra mile, even when you don’t think you can.

a part of me is annoyed but mostly i’m just like who cares

but i had a friend i met online years ago in high school and then i went to college to study web design and art and in the meantime he started studying web design too

now upon graduation i never really got into the field at all

and he has presumably been quite successful

but our conversations have always been weird, he wasn’t so much a friend as a mere acquaintance i guess anyway like the conversations looking back that i can recall seem more like he was bragging subtly about things

and i just am so annoyed that my head REMEMBERS THAT THAT WAY

anyway i don’t have the interest to follow his family in social media or updates from their camp for the time being in my life, and for the immediate and long term future, and it’s mostly just because every time i try to find my web development groove i hit his social media and get ridiculed (the voices happen alongside too) so I’m just avoiding it

i need to establish order in my life with controlled chaos of choice not willy nilly sarcastic web designers being all sarcastic and snarky

the voices seem to like to accuse me of having some kind of sexual desires for him and i 10000000% have never in my life felt attraction towards this person other than friendship.  literally not the type of person that does it for me in any romantic or sexual way.

fucking love (sarcasm, i hate) having “invisible voices” in my head that say shit like “jen you’ve become a web whore”

fuck off.

Do you know the difference between margin and padding?

To summarize:

  • Padding is the space inside a box

  • Margin is the space outside a box

Given that info:

  • Use padding when you want space between the contents of the box and the box’s edges

  • Use margin when you want space between the box and other boxes

Or, in other words, I’d say…

  1. Do I want more space, aka “breathing room” inside this box? Use padding.

  2. Do I want more space between this box and other elements on the page? Use margins.

When you have a background color or a border turned on for your box (i.e. a distinguishing edge), it’s easier to visually see why you would want to use padding or margin.

It’s just trickier when you don’t have some distinguishing edge to your box, because then padding and margin appear to be behaving in the same way.

In those cases, either one can get the job done. I.e. it’s not always necessarily a “you have to use padding* or “you have to use margin” situation.

Here’s a couple more points that distinguish margin and padding from one another:

  1. When you use padding it adds to the overall width of your elements. Ex, if you set the width of a box to be 100px but have 10px padding, you actually will have an element that is 120px wide (10px padding on either side).

  2. Margins collapse. This means if I have two boxes next to one another, each with a 10px margin…The distance between them will not be 20px (10px + 10px). Instead, the margins will collapse so the margin is for realz 10px.

tired of waking up a different person each day

i have my projects and goals that i will accomplish

i just hate when i start hating projects in the middle of it “just because” or when i feel like a totally different person

everytime i mention dogs my family sighs like do they hate dogs i dreamed about them giving me a dog and my mom just says “that would never in a million years happen” lmao

i don’t want them to give me a dog but they really do not seem to be accepting of the love and happiness that dogs are
